The Unico System Small Duct High Velocity (SDHV) heating, ventilation and cooling installation at Devon Renewables’ headquarters in Exeter is proving to be a powerful demonstration tool for architects, homeowners and specifiers alike. The fully operational system showcases how an all-in-one renewable indoor climate solution can transform comfort levels in both residential and commercial environments – while also providing a perfectly balanced working environment for the company’s own team.
Installed within the company’s 40m² ground floor showroom, the complete Unico System is on display, including the Air Handling Unit model linked to the main supply duct. From here, branches of sound-attenuated flexible supply tubing lead to discreet white circular ceiling outlets that blend seamlessly into the interior. These outlets deliver conditioned air directly into the showroom, allowing visitors to experience first-hand the system’s rapid response times and the smooth transition between controlled heating and cooling.
The system is paired with a Worcester Bosch 4kW CS 2000 AWF Monobloc Heat Pump outside unit and incorporates an HMI Master Controller and Nest Thermostat, giving visitors a clear insight into system performance and control functionality.
Beyond its showroom appeal, the Unico System plays an essential day-to-day role throughout the company’s offices across both floors of the building. Staff benefit from a consistently comfortable, draft-free indoor climate throughout the year – warm in winter and refreshingly cool in summer. Conditioned air is delivered almost silently at less than 30 decibels, a significant advantage within a busy office setting where employee wellbeing and acoustic comfort are key to maintaining a productive working environment.
With the Unico System fully integrated into its headquarters, Devon Renewables is able to demonstrate a complete indoor comfort solution that works seamlessly alongside the Worcester Bosch heat pump.
Matt Bird of Devon Renewables comments: “The Unico System has a very different minimalist look and offers a different experience compared with traditional heating and air conditioning. Showroom visitors can see and feel immediately its potential advantages from both a performance and interior design viewpoint.”
Installation throughout the showroom and offices was straightforward, supported by the flexibility of the supply tubing. This adaptability makes the system particularly well suited to renovation projects, including period properties, as well as new-build developments – a benefit that Devon Renewables highlights to customers considering sustainable upgrades.
The showroom presents the Unico System alongside a comprehensive range of renewable technologies including heat pumps, solar energy, battery storage and EV charging solutions. As a regional leader in sustainable energy solutions, Devon Renewables is committed to helping households and specifiers transition away from fossil fuels and achieve their sustainability goals.
The company is accredited as a Unico System Specialist Partner and Worcester Bosch installer. With MCS certification, Devon Renewables provides full installation, technical expertise and customer support across its renewable product portfolio.
