TECHNICAL INFORMATION - MATERIALS NEEDED FOR INSTALLATION OF THE UNICO SYSTEM

List of additional materials you may need for a Unico System Installation

Ducting and Dampers: for fresh air intake if you are bringing in fresh air from outside into the Unico System. You may also need the corresponding Spigot to attach to the mixing box on the return side of the filter. Aesthetically matching exterior grill with coarse pre filter is required.
Aluminium Tape: Approximately 4 rolls per system required for all joints/seams and seals on the unit and plenum/Duct system.
Uni-Strut or Galvanised Channel: Unistrut is used to support the units from underneath and to allow for the AHU to be located up and out of the Drain Pan. Must be sized to hold the Weight of the Unit.
Threaded Bar: Used to Hang the units from the roof trusses of from joists to floor below.
Anti vibration Spring mounts: used to reduce the vibration transmitted up through the hangers to the roof trusses or floor joists. Essential for quiet operation.
Anti Vibration Pads: reduces vibration between Unico components and the conditioned space. Teco pad is a popular brand and should be placed underneath the unit and between the unit and the drain pan.
Electrical Cable: wiring to be done on site. For High voltage/Current wiring check with the condensing unit manufacturers. Low voltage 24V wiring would require in excess of 5 cores 1mm cable.
Metal Hole Saw: 50mm diameter to cut holes in the plenum and 100mm to cut holes in ceiling tiles and plasterboard for the outlets.
Tin Snips: right and left handed tin snips are useful for cutting galvanised plenum to correct length.
Fasteners: 1/4 inch hex head self tapping screws with a magnetic tech screw adapter on a hand held drill will reduce installation time.
Drills and grinders: power drill for cutting holes in ceiling and plenum and a hand held drill for attaching take-off and opening side panels of the AHU and securing ductwork. Grinder can be used to cut Unistrut and deburr ductwork.
AC and Water Pipe work: all pipe work and armourflex lagging required for the job. this will include pump sets, 2 and 3 port valves if required, commissioning and isolating valves.
Test Meter: electrical test meter for determining Current and Voltage through the system and to fault find field wiring problems.
Turbometer: air flow device for determining the amount of air Leaving the outlets. This will tell you if the airflow for a specific outlets is too high/low and will also tell you if you have any leaks in the system before the ducting is boxed away.
Clamp Pliers: these must be used to crimp the silver and black couplings on the flexible tubing.
